About John Sharp

I am a retired Sociologist who also worked at various times in project management, energy research, product management, market research, web-based computer programming, and in general living.  I’m very interested in how people can hold beliefs that seem strongly contradicted by observed “reality,” such as the belief that the economy generally does better under Republican administrations than under Democratic ones (see, for example, Paul Krugman’s notion that facts have a liberal bias), so Republican prescriptions for the economy (low taxes, weak social net, government small enough to drown in a bathtub) are clearly the right behaviors based on this false premise.

So I will be pointing to links and making observations on items that appear to support a “study of reality.”
